大塚製薬の医科向けカレンダーが、今年41年目を迎えました。
毎年、医学・医療にまつわるさまざまな切り口で、貴重な資料と簡潔な文章とともに紹介されるテーマのおもしろさに、カレンダーの到着を待つ人も多くいます。
スタート時からひとりのデザイナー、ヘルムート・シュミットがデザインを担当している点でもめずらしいカレンダーシリーズといえます。
カレンダーの寿命はその年のみですし、一般流通していないので、これらが記録に残ることはありません。
この展示は、カレンダーを一覧し、記録に残すものです。
フォーマットの模索期でもあった最初の10年。
続く10年でも小さな試行錯誤がありました。
20年目の1997年からは、ページ組版ソフトであるQuarkXPress、2014年からはInDesignでの制作と、制作技術の移り変わりも感じられます。
This year marks the 41st year of Otsuka Pharmaceutical's calendar for the medical community.
Each year, many people wait for the calendars to arrive because of the interesting themes introduced with valuable materials and concise text from a variety of perspectives related to medicine and medical care.
The calendar series is also unique in that it has been designed by one designer, Helmut Schmidt, since its inception.
Since the calendars only last for a limited number of years and are not distributed to the public, they are not recorded.
This exhibition lists and documents the calendars.
The first 10 years were a period of exploration of the format.
There were also small trials and errors in the following 10 years.
In the 20th year, 1997, the calendar was produced using QuarkXPress page formatting software, and in 2014, it was produced using InDesign, showing the transition in production technology.
